Is there any creation other than the Muppets which is so indelibly dyed into a certain generation's childhood memories? I grew up in a wrold of Sesamet Street, the Muppet Show and Fraggle Rock and consider myself the luckier for it. I enjoy being able to share all these shows with my own child now and love to see the magic and wonder they spark in her. One of the best elements of any Muppet experience is the music. Now some of today's hottest bands have gathered to pay tribute to these classic Muppet songs. The Green Album, due out August 23, sticks to songs written specifically for or performed by the Muppets, and culls from a deep catalog of fan favorites. As Robin Hilton of NPR states, "We live in cynical times, but listening to The Green Album is a nice reminder of the joy and beauty that remains." Stream it in its entirely here.
